Fishing

  • Angling Club (Yinnar)

Yinnar Angling Club hosts fishing trips throughout the year. If you are interested in joining them contact Allan Rogers (Secretary) ph.0428 881 221 or Neville Notting (President) ph. 03 51631363. If you are visiting the area or wanting to take the family out for the day here are some recommendations from the Yinnar Angling Club: Trout can be caught in any of the creeks and rivers in the area. Middle Creek, Billy Creek and Morwell River all have fish. Some great places to try include Billy Creek park on Junction Road, Martin Walker Reserve on Upper Middle Creek Road and Apex Park on Morwell River Road. Use worm or grasshopper for bait on a small hook with light line or you can try a selter or spinner. Plastic bait will work also. Please be sure to ask land owners before crossing their properties. The Hazelwood Pondage is another good place to take the family for a fish, try around the Yacht Club with corn or worm for bait.
