Come Join the Yinnar & District Judo Club in 2025!
The Yinnar & District Judo Club is excited for another successful year in 2025, conducting weekly sessions at the Yinnar Recreation Reserve. We are recruiting new members for 2025 from ages 4 and up, so please come along for a look. The club has been very successful over the past 30 years with students training and competing at local, state and national levels. The club coaches are Sharon Chiotelis, Andrew Taylor, Peter Brimblecombe and Hunter Richardson.
Judo is a martial art sport and means 'the gentle way'. It teaches students great discipline, respect, physical strength, mental skills and resilience that are useful 'life skills' that can be applied to one's school work and sports participation. Students also have lots of fun with competitive and non-competitive games and activities during the session.
Sessions run weekly during the school term only, starting 6pm-7pm and 7pm-8pm Thursday nights. The cost is $5 per session with payment paid for the Term via an invoice. Judoka's must register with Judo Victoria through a 4 week trial or annual membership prior to taking the Judo mat. The membership covers participant insurance, enables grading to be recognised and participation in competitions. The Yinnar & District Judo Club does not charge a membership fee, it relies on the JVI membership for its members. The club has a wide selection of Judo suits (Judo Gi) available for short term loan with the option to purchase their own GI through the club.
