Details (updated 2023): A shared vision for the Yinnar Community Garden was drawn up by locals on 26 February 2011. The key elements developed and integrated into the design of the Garden were that of a Sustainable, Organic, Edible, Artistic, Biodiverse and Educational Garden. Including fruits, nuts, veggies, herbs, flowers and native plants in shared spaces complemented by stunning mosaics and contemplative seating, the Garden also has a Glamp kitchen with Pizza Oven for social events.
We are grateful to the Helen McPherson Smith Trust for our generous initial grant auspiced by Sustainable Gardening Australia, followed by seven further grants from the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund, Mirboo North & District Community Foundation, Department of Social Services Volunteer Grant, Latrobe Health Assembly, Food For All Latrobe Valley, Latrobe City and OSMI.
